INTELECTUAL PROPERTY ACCOMPLISHMENTS
2009-2010 - Responsible for developing intellectual property policy and strategy for AT&T’s Open Innovation Centers.
2007 - Named Assistant Vice President of AT&T Intellectual Property, Inc. In charge of Intellectual Property Strategic Business Development, responsible for negotiating complex IP Licensing deals, directing a group of licensing professionals and developing and implementing IP policy for AT&T.
1998 - Named Vice President of BellSouth’s newly formed Intellectual Property Marketing Corporation. Managed all three licensing arms, patents, copyright and technology. Exceeded first year licensing revenue target by 15% with a revenue growth rate of 15-20% annually for the next 8 years.
1996 - Named Licensing Executive Society Chair for the Atlanta Chapter and served five years in that role.
1995 - Named the Intellectual Property Manager for BellSouth Corporation. Responsible for setting and implementing IP policy for the entire Corporation and all affiliates.
1992 - Named the Intellectual Property Manager for BellSouth Telecommunications, Inc. Responsible for setting and implementing policy, negotiating complex licensing agreements with major BellSouth Suppliers.

2007 - 2011 AT&T Intellectual Property - Assistant Vice President - Strategic IP Business Development
Responsible for business development and revenue for the three licensing arms of IP which includes negotiating IP rights for the corporation and drafting complex agreement with major Suppliers and Licensors. Developed IP strategy for the corporation regarding IP ownership and all key negotiations for IP ownership.
1998 - 2007 BellSouth Intellectual Property Marketing Corporation - Vice President
Responsible for establishing IP as a revenue generator for BellSouth. Negotiated all original IP deals for the Corporation and in the first year brought in millions in revenue, exceeding the Corporations expectations and projections. Co-authored the original business case in BellSouth to establish BellSouth Intellectual Property Marketing and Management Corporations as affiliates of BellSouth Corporation.
1995 - 1997 BellSouth Corporation - Manager Intellectual Property
Moved to BellSouth Corporation with responsibilities for all Intellectual Property for BellSouth and affiliates. Negotiated complex IP deals and worked closely with M&A group to make sure IP was valued and managed correctly in all M&A deals. Set up process for handling contracts in BellSouth Corporation and associated unregulated affiliates. Led team to create a corporate Purchasing group for BellSouth and received approval by the BellSouth Chairman, with a first year saving of 50M for the Corporation.
1987 - 1995 BellSouth Services - Procurement Sr. Contract Manager
Responsible for negotiating contracts for hardware, mainframes and software. Promoted to Sr. Contract Manager in 1990, and given responsibility for several 100M contracts. In the early ‘90s named as the single point of contact for Intellectual Property negotiations for Procurement in the regulated company.
1984 - 1986 BellSouth Advanced Systems - Atlanta/Birmingham Assistant Manager
Responsible for managing inventory for the unregulated affiliate. Created an inventory system and method for tracking returned material and how material would be checked in the warehouse, saving the company tens of millions in lost hardware.
1971 - 1983 Southern Bell Telephone - Assistant Manager
Started Bell System career in a non-management position as an Operator, then Service Representative and was promoted to Management in 1978.
