5 KEY QUESTIONS
5 Key Questions that leaders should be asking themselves to ensure the aggressive growth of your business.

PLANNING QUESTIONS
Marc P. Chinoy, TRG President
CORE EXECUTIVE CHECKLIST:
A Message to Leaders (CEO’s, the BoD and Exec Teams)
Premise: All enterprise should have and follow a written plan that clarifies the intentions of the leadership to both secure and advance their group’s position over time.
Here are the 5 Key Questions that should be asked of every group:
- ASSESSMENT: Does your group have a focused plan that takes a near term and long view of the marketplace?
- TARGETS: Does your plan set targets for your group’s intended positioning over the next 3 to 5 years?
- ENGAGEMENT: Does everyone in your group who has a responsibility under the plan fully understand what is expected of them?
- PROGRESS: Have you established a sequence of steps to both achieve and measure progress (e.g. monthly reports, quarterly reviews, and annual adjustments)?
- REVIEW: Is your plan being managed over time by designated leaders, committed to the success of the outcomes named?
If you have answered any of the above with anything less than a clear "Yes," that does NOT automatically mean your group will fail, but it DOES mean that you are not taking full advantage of the greatest opportunity available to all of us in business... the ability to look back at how well we have done, look forward at how we wish to look in the future, and then take steps toward accomplishment, adjusting as we must over time... Period

LOCAL/REGIONAL GOVERNMENT QUESTIONS
Robert Chirles, TRG Affiliate
CORE EXECUTIVE CHECKLIST:
A Message to Key Leaders of NGO’s and governmental entities.
Premise: All community functions of every nature should have developed plans that clarify the intentions of the leadership to both secure and advance the group’s positioning over time.
- Do you have a written mission expressing why your group exists?
- Do you have a plan to generate support leading to advancement of that mission over time?
- Do you have benchmarks and sequential review of intended success?
- Do you have a budget that supports that mission and plan?
- Do you have an orderly plan of succession for leadership to match changes in elected leadership?
If you do not have a current plan in writing, or if you have answered any of the above with anything less than a clear "Yes," that does NOT automatically mean your group will fail, but it DOES mean that you are not taking full advantage of the greatest of all opportunities available to all of us in both the public and private sectors... the opportunity to plan our actions. The answers do NOT have to be overly complicated, but they MUST be there.

Premise: All enterprises should possess deliberate plans to establish, secure and advance the perception of the organization’s position over time.
- Do you have a clear, written strategy for media messaging and outreach?
- Are people on your staff trained in creating messaging products such as news releases that hit the mark with news media outlets
- Do people on your staff know how and when to effectively interact with news organizations?
- Are your organization’s messaging activities consistent across all of today’s various distribution channels, including digital platforms?
- Do you have a clear content strategy for digital platforms (website, social media) that focuses on continually providing relevant, quality information to your constituents over time?
If you do not have a current plan in writing, or if you answer anything less than "Yes" to any of these questions, that does NOT mean your organization will fail. Guy Blumberg, TRG Affiliate
CORE EXECUTIVE CHECKLIST:
A Message to Key Leaders (CEO’s, the BoD and Exec Teams) of private, nonprofit and governmental entities.
Premise: All organizations should possess both individual, and coordinated, sales and marketing plans in order to establish, secure and advance the perception of the organization’s brand, position, and product offerings.

- How tied into sales and product management is your marketing plan?
- Are you utilizing multiple complementing channels to further your plan?
- How do you track and measure ROI?
